 Holiday Closings

The Clubhouse will be closed on the following holidays:

New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas
New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eveclose at 2:00 pm
Fourth of July
close at 5:00 pm. The Clubhouse will open at 9:00 am on all other Federal Government holidays as well as the day following Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Exercise Room

Every member is required to attend an equipment orientation program before using any of the exercise equipment.  You can arrange for an orientation by scheduling an appointment with Jeff Parker at 301-908-2940. Children under the age of 16 may not use the exercise equipment, except 14-15 year olds who have received prior written authorization by the Activities Director and a full orientation. Children under 14 years old are not permitted to use the exercise room. A personal fitness assessment is also available and includes body composition measure-ments, blood  pressure, flexibility and muscular endurance tests. Assessments are free and reservations can be made with the fitness trainer.

Tennis

Marna Katzel is our resident USPTA Tennis Professional. Marna was nationally ranked as a college player and has been teaching to all levels since. Group lessons are offered to ages 3 and up, at any playing level. Private lessons are. also available to members who want individualized instruction.  Those not interested in lessons can participate in the Intra-Club   Leagues,   Tennis   Ladder, Tournaments or Socials. Tennis Courts

The four tennis courts at Kentlands are for use by residents and their guests only. The courts are available on weekdays from 7 am to 9 pm and 9 am to 9 pm on weekends and holidays.  Residents can purchase a multi-purpose access key from the Clubhouse for $10.   Court reservations can be made at the Clubhouse.  Reservations are restricted to one hour for singles and two hours for doubles. Court 1 is a walk-on court only and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Lighting is available on courts 2 & 3. The Clubhouse also offers a ball machine for rent at $5 an hour.

Personal Training

Complete Physique, Inc., owned and operated by Jeff Parker, provides personal training and fitness classes at the Clubhouse. The classes are structured to provide personal attention in a fun and hardworking group setting.  As a personal training client, you will receive an individualized program based on your fitness level. Your program is designed with your personal needs and goals in mind. Complete Physique, Inc. is dedicated to continual education on the latest research in exercise and nutrition in order to provide you with the highest level of program prescription.

1 session                                    $50

8 once a week sessions        $45

8 twice a week sessions       $40

Swimming Pool

The pool is professionally managed by Century Pool Management Inc. It is open from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm daily, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the pool. Children ages 10-12 may enter the pool unattended if they have passed a swimming test administered by the lifeguards and have a signed parental consent form on file in the office. In accordance with Montgomery County regulations, no food or beverage are allowed at the pool, except on the  expanded pool deck. All members and guests must abide by the postefl rules. Please contact CMC at 301-948-2071 if you have any questions regarding the pool management.

Basketball Court

The basketball court is available for use by residents and their guests on weekdays from 7 am to 9 pm. On weekends and holidays the court may be used from 9 am to 9 pm. Court use is on a first come, first serve basis for one-hour maximum use while others are waiting.  Residents can purchase a key to access the court for $10. These keys can be used on both the tennis and basketball courts.

Social Events

Throughout the year there are various social events sponsored by the Kentlands Citizens Assembly that are for residents only. The Memorial Day Picnic, Island Luau and concerts on the lawn are a few examples of these events.

Clubhouse Rentals

The Clubhouse is available to rent by Kentlands residents only.    For more information on renting the Clubhouse contact the Activities Director at 301-948-2071.

Locker Rooms

Members and guests are responsible for securing their personal belongings. Overnight use of the lockers are not permitted.

Guests

At the beginning of the summer each household will be issued a guest pass, which allows for 10 guest visits at no charge.

Additional guest passes are available for $3 per guest. One-week passes are available for out-of-town visitors at the rate of $5 per guest.  Members can bring no more than 5 guests on a given day.  There is no charge for guests using the courts.  All guests must be accompanied by a member and comply with all policies and regulations.

Other General Policies

Members are required to present their membership card at the front desk and sign-in when entering the Clubhouse. Shirts and shoes are required at all times except while using the pools or locker rooms. Smoking is prohibited on or in any area of the Clubhouse. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12 at all times while at the Clubhouse. Anyone found to be disruptive or causing damage to the property may be asked to leave the premises and/or put on temporary suspension.
